Codes are not unique by themselves but are unique when combine with the type. So British Airways is an Air Carrier so there can't be another BA code who is also an Air Carrier but there could be a BA for a Water or Land Carrier. The code combination has to be unique but it doesn't matter whether character or numbers are used as users will go by the description. |
